What happens when talent, creativity, charisma, style, and dedication are combined in the world of Rap music? "J.Love"
J.Love (Jason Love) entered the world as a fan of music. As the son of a part-time DJ, J.Love was introduced to a variety of music at a very young age and grew up with music playing a significant role in his life. With the help of his older brother, he began rapping and beat-boxing in third grade (’89). This newfound hobby would develop and grow into a passion and a goal that became noticeable to his peers around ninth grade (’95). J.Love quickly earned a solid reputation for his numerous freestyles and cafeteria battles that led to High School performances. And since then, there has been no looking back…
In 2003 J.Love officially established himself on the hip-hop scene of Milwaukee. After the death of his father, J.Love created his own record label, “N.U.B.Y. Entertainment”, consisting of family and friends from from High School. N.U.B.Y. Entertainment would then release the “Birth of an Empire” mixtape that summer. Also, that summer, J.Love made a guest appearance on fellow Milwaukee rap artist Stackz’s “Compositions Volume 1” LP. N.U.B.Y. Entertainment would follow their first mixtape with “Business Partners” in 2004. In 2005, J.Love released his first solo mixtape “Flyest of the Fly” and launched an official website, www.nubyworld.com .
2006 hasn’t showed any lack of momentum. J.Love made his radio debut on two of Wisconsin’s largest stations when he was the first artist selected for Milwaukee’s V100.7 FM’s “Heat from the Street” showcase and advanced to the semi-final round in Milwaukee’s Kiss 103.7 FM’s “Kiss Idol” competition. The release of J.Love’s second solo mixtape, “Flyest of the Fly: Volume 2” has also created a buzz in the local music scene that has increased the anticipation of his first debut LP, “A Slim Hustle”, which will be released later this year with a possible DVD documentary.
Not limiting himself to music, J.Love also plans on venturing into the world of fashion with the current development of N.U.B.Y. World Clothing with longtime friend/label-mate Erik Benard.
